The aim of Semi-Permanent Make-up (also called Micropigmentation or Permanent Make-up) is to enhance your natural beauty and in some cases restore what has been lost for different reasons like alopecia or cancer. It is great for someone with an active lifestyle who does not wish to re-apply make up during the day. With Permanent Make-up we can achieve an anti-aging effect and bring back that youthful definition to the face. It is also perfect for someone with poor eyesight when the application of conventional make up is difficult.
How long does the Semi-Permanent Make-up last?
This is variable depending upon the client’s age, skin type, colour choice and lifestyle. In average is 2-5 years, the colour will fade gradually due to exposure of the sun and natural processes in the skin. This should be considered as an advantage because of the fact that our face changes over the years and what looks good at 25 may be too much at 45. Colour touch up is recommended every 12-15 months.
How is Permanent Make-up done?
Permanent Make Up procedure is two visit treatment 4-6 weeks apart. Before any procedure can start you will need to have a consultation. During the consultation you will be explained in details about the procedure a well as pre and post treatment care to ensure you book your treatment at the best time for you not to interfere with your social life. You will also discuss the desired style and design of your treatment. At the end of the consultation a skin test will be done, a little scratch behind your ear in the hairline. It is necessary to ensure you are not allergic to any of the products used during the procedure. 48 hours after the successful skin test the first treatment can start.
Does Semi-Permanent Make-up hurts?
Treatment usually takes 1.5- 2 hours. At first area to be treated is cleaned and topical numbing cream is applied. After that the design work can start. Therapist will draw the design on first and together you will change and correct it if necessary. Only when you are 100% happy with the design and the chosen colour, the Micropigmentation procedure can start. Therapist will re-apply the anaesthetic during the procedure as many times as needed to ensure the maximum comfort for you.
It is often clients fall asleep during some procedures. When finished, the area treated will appear darker than chosen colour. It is because of the dead skin cells and some pigment on the skin. It usually takes 5-7 days for skin to exfoliate itself and then you can see the true colour.
After eyebrow and eyeliner procedures the swelling is minimal or none, lips are more sensitive and will stay swollen for around 24 hours.
Your therapist will invite you to come back 4-6 weeks later for a perfecting visit. It is necessary and treatment cannot be considered complete in one visit. We work with the latest digital equipment available which ensures the minimum trauma to the skin and the most natural result.
